Experts and Mentors
At Providence: A Christian Montessori Community, we believe in connecting our students with real-world experts who can inspire and guide them. Our students have the unique opportunity to interact with professionals from a variety of fields who visit regularly to share their expertise, offer feedback on student-led projects, and even help design them. Whether it’s learning from an artist, an entrepreneur, or a scientist, these experts bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that enriches our community.
Our experts take on many roles, enriching our learning community in powerful ways:
1️⃣ Guest Lecturers – Professionals from diverse fields visit regularly to share their expertise, engaging with students and the larger community through dynamic discussions and hands-on demonstrations.
2️⃣ Mentors – Students receive ongoing feedback from experts who help refine their ideas, challenge their thinking, and guide them toward excellence in their chosen fields.
3️⃣ Job Shadow & Internship Providers – Middle school students complete 12 job shadowing experiences over three years, each in a different career cluster, broadening their understanding of the many career paths available. High school students take this exploration further, completing at least eight week-long internships to gain hands-on experience in careers that align with their passions.
With 400 internship hours for each graduate of Providence, our mentors and experts are a vital part of our program.
These experts don’t just lecture—they engage with our students, asking important, real-world questions: How practical is this solution? How compelling? How sustainable? This helps students sharpen their critical thinking skills and refine their projects in ways that mirror real-world demands. From high-level feedback to long-term mentoring, these professionals provide invaluable support and often help students build relationships that can lead to internships, apprenticeships, and networking opportunities.
By bridging the gap between education and industry, we’re giving our students to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact giving them a head start on their journey to becoming the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
