Admissions Process

Begin your family’s journey today.

We begin accepting applications for all levels starting October 1st each year for the following school year. Due to our typically high demand, the admissions process can sometimes take a little longer, as we often have a waitlist.

However, we deeply value and appreciate your perseverance in seeking enrollment in our unique program. The easiest entry points into Providence are through our toddler program (ages 2 and young 3-year-olds), first grade (the start of our elementary program), and our growing Middle and High School programs. Openings in other age groups do become available as families relocate.

Who is not a good fit for Providence: A Christian Montessori Community?
Full Disclosure: Families identifying with the statements below may find that Providence: A Christian Montessori Community is not the best fit for their needs. We understand that every family is unique, and no judgment is made.

  • Families who do not want their child immersed in a Biblical worldview, where Jesus is a central focus and unconditional love for others is a cornerstone.
  • Families who prioritize a traditional, factory-style educational model, where children are separated by grade, primarily taught through lectures, and tested frequently.
  • Families who are uncomfortable seeing their child face challenges or struggle as they learn to take ownership of their work and grow in responsibility.
  • Families who are not prepared to commit to at least two years to support their child’s growth and success within our community.

More about Family Engagement at Providence: A Christian Montessori Community

At Providence, we believe that a child’s growth is deeply rooted in a collaborative partnership between school and family. We serve families who value a Christian worldview and who aspire to raise problem-solvers who love God and love others. Our parents are not only invested in their children’s education but also in a way that’s meaningful and manageable. You get to decide how much you want to be involved, ensuring you’re engaged without feeling overwhelmed.

Parent Communication
We value open and consistent communication. Whether it’s daily check-ins with teachers, class updates via our Transparent Classroom Portal, monthly newsletters, or student-led family conferences twice a year, you’ll always feel connected to your child’s progress. Plus, we give parents tips to avoid the dreaded “I played” response when asking, “What did you do at school today?”

Cultural Diversity
At Providence, we embrace the richness of cultural diversity as a reflection of our Christian and Montessori values. As Christians, we are called to love our neighbor as ourselves, celebrating the dignity and worth of every individual. As Montessorians, we study and appreciate the beauty of the human experience across different cultures, encouraging our students to develop a global perspective. As a community, we honor and respect the unique backgrounds, traditions, and differences that each family brings to our school. This diversity enriches our learning environment and helps us create a space where every child and family feels valued and understood. Together, we foster a culturally inclusive community rooted in love, respect, and mutual understanding. Learn more about how we celebrate cultural diversity here.

No Homework
We believe that family time is sacred. That’s why we don’t send homework home—no more evening battles! Instead, your family can enjoy quality time and fun projects. If you love learning together at home, great! We’re happy to provide ideas that align with your child’s classroom experience. If a student needs extra support, optional at-home work may be suggested to bridge gaps or reinforce ownership of learning.

Parent Workshops/Family Devotions
At least three times a year, we offer workshops designed to deepen your understanding of Montessori principles and parenting. Past topics have included: family devotional activities, parenting strategies, Montessori education at home, managing behavior, digital safety, and more. These sessions are created to empower and equip families in their role as primary educators of their children.

Parent Community Service Hours
We cherish the active involvement of families in our school community. To strengthen this partnership, we require 20 hours of parent community service each year, which can be completed by parents, grandparents, or other family members. Your participation enriches our community, and we’ve seen firsthand how it enhances the Providence experience! Service options are diverse and include volunteering on board committees (like Generous Living, Building and Grounds, and Event Planning) or lending a hand with projects such as organizing art activities, mentoring, classroom support, or event setup and cleanup.

Community-wide Events
Providence offers a rich calendar of events that build memories and connection. From Grandparent’s Day to the Fall Festival, Daddy’s Art Show, and our May Day Festival, our school creates opportunities for community bonding and celebration. End-of-year family trips for Elementary, Middle, and High School students bring our families closer as we share meaningful experiences together.

High School Family Involvement
The high school years come with even more chances for parent involvement. On Fridays, students have at-home enrichment days, where parents take an active role in supporting their learning. Parents become valuable resources as students tap into their networks to plan field studies, invite guest speakers, and serve in the community.

Grandparent Connection
At Providence, we nurture the whole child, teaching the importance of every relationship in their life. Grandparents hold a special place in a child’s heart, offering wisdom and love like no other. That’s why we strive to include grandparents in our learning community, whether they live nearby or far away. Each year, we celebrate Grandparent’s Day with memorable photos and invite them to participate in our Grandparents Reading Club. We also keep grandparents connected through our quarterly mailing list, sharing updates on school activities and fostering the multi-generational connections that are so vital to a child’s growth. Even if your child’s grandparent lives far away, we’ll find ways to involve them—and for those nearby who fill the role of a grandparent, we welcome them too! Invite them to our newsletter here.

Balancing work, marriage, and parenting is no easy task, but at Providence, we are committed to helping your child thrive academically, spiritually, and emotionally. With our school’s touchpoints, traditions, and community involvement, we aim to provide the kind of partnership that fosters deep, meaningful relationships and lasting memories for your family
