CMC Movement – Sister Schools

The Christian Montessori Community Movement is here.  Families are ready for Christian Education that goes beyond rote memorization and lectured teaching.  Today’s Christian families want their children to have the skills of an innovative leader, showing up in the world in big ways.

It’s this commitment to Christian values and  student-driven learning that make Christian Montessori Communities the ideal choice for local education in the state of North Carolina, Nationwide education, and international organizations.

Meet our first Christian Montessori Community in Kenya!

In 2015, the opportunity for Providence: A Christian Montessori Community to inspire beyond our campus was realized.  John Kellogg, of Break the Cycle Global, and Denise Marti, our founder, met and had a discussion.

John, “Our goal is to raise up national leaders who can break the cycle of poverty.”

Denise, “Then you need to make your school a Christian Montessori Community!”

In 2016, Marti went with her family to the Mathare informal settlement in Nairobi, Kenya to inspire the transition to developing a Christian Montessori Community.  Since then the school has expanded to serve over 200 students in two locations.

Programs continue to be developed to allow for student leadership to flourish in both our local community at Providence and in Nairobi, Kenya as they work together to build leadership skills through programs like Leader in Me.

The Sister Schools Initiative has also been developed to allow for students to embark on a journey of cultural exchange, understanding, and personal growth.

Through the Bridgely phone app and child-sponsorship program, students will have the chance to communicate directly with their counterparts in Kenya. This interaction offers an authentic understanding of different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles far beyond what textbooks can offer.
