High School Perspective

High School Community (Ages 15 – 18)

Looking back, I sometimes find it hard to believe how much I’ve grown since starting Middle School. Each day feels like an adventure. We’re not stuck repeating the same old thing; it’s about real growth and exploring new horizons.

We continue our learning beyond the classroom with  L2L: Leaving To Learn. But now, we’re in charge of generating many of those experiences, including our commitment to the community projects, year end trip, and spring banquet.

Our projects also go to the next level.  I remember when we wrote our own books, and the sense of pride I felt holding my creation was surreal. Longer internships,  developing and presenting an employment portfolio also gives me a sense that I am really prepared for what life has to offer. I’ve become so confident, presenting and sharing my journey throughout these years. Mentoring at the next level has also taught me patience and compassion.

The future doesn’t scare me because I’ve learned how to plan my path.

Internships, speakers, and dual enrollment programs help me to dive deep into things I’m passionate about. This allows us to explore career paths we can get excited about.  Many of our classmates get an associates degree or several certifications before they are 18 years old. But it’s not just about the piece of paper, we want to pursue experiences that help us follow our purpose and passion and find or create the careers that we really want.

Honestly? The best thing about Providence for me? It feels like I’m always moving forward. I’m learning about God and how He made me, I’m learning about other people  and how much they add to our lives,  and I’m learning how to challenge myself in order to be all I was created to be.
