Susan Long
As a self-proclaimed “average student” who struggled in school, Susan’s story is one of perseverance and dedication. An award-winning educator for over thirty years, Susan has a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and a master’s degree from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University in Reading Education, as well as several teaching certifications and licenses. In addition, she has been a Nationally Board Certified teacher for over 20 years. Like the teachers who inspired her, she can connect with students individually, spark their curiosity, and encourage their interests! Susan has been married for thirty years and has three teenagers. When she isn’t teaching, tutoring, or mentoring, Susan enjoys reading, knitting, and various outdoor activities, including cycling, hiking, kayaking, camping, swimming, and gardening.
